Trial recounts Price murder case and iron bar testimony
The trial of Price advances with state evidence seeming uncontradicted until Willie Wells, cousin and defense witness, claims the iron bar used against Ethel Price was at his father’s home before and after the crime. Wells says the bar was used on a barn gate previously and remained at the gate after the death, challenging the prosecution’s narrative. Defense counsel avoided direct refutation while stressing the death penalty’s injustice and noting no white man had been hanged or electrocuted in Genera ectaty in 68 years.
