Washington AP reports the disputed service vote issue was sent to a joint conference committee to resolve federal state ballot control. Speaker Rayburn named conferees including Worley Rankin Bonner LeCompte and Ellsworth for the talks. Senate had moved to a uniform federal ballot for service members but the House voted to keep ballot control with the states.
