Dorothey Dix Says About Marriage and Work Life
A dialog on marriage cost and independence contrasts bachelorhood with married life. A man prefers avoiding a hard home, envisioning a lively, well-kept house and a wife who remains appealing. The narrator counters with wedding ring durability and the motive to keep a wife content rather than enslave her.

Idle wives and working women shape happy life
A fragment discusses how modern wives who work sixteen to eighteen hours daily create stable homes and bond with husbands, arguing that idle women cause illness, divorces, and doctor visits. It suggests marrying to keep a wife idle leads to trouble, and asserts workers avoid misfortune by staying active.
