Tragedy at South St Andrews taxi office
In West Palm Beach Florida Cecil Langley, a 44 year old cabinet maker, shot himself in the head with a .38 revolver after entering the Houston Tays Company taxi office on South St Andrews street. Langley, who had come to Dothan with his wife, died at the scene. Coroner A A Parker identified him. Investigating officers said Langley requested a policeman and fired as he was directed to the station. The shot shattered a plate glass door and Langley slumped beside the door. Police and county officers investigated.

Veteran Railroader Thornton Dies After Hip Break
ATLANTA AP. Thomas Pascal Thornton, a railroader for about 60 of his 78 years, died yesterday after a fall that fractured his hip three weeks earlier. He started as a tar oiler at 16 and worked for Seaboard, A and W.P., L and N, and Atlantic Coast Line before retiring. For four decades he was a stockmaster clearing the scene after train accidents. Funeral services were planned today.

Edward H. Baughman Dies in New York at 60
Edward Howard Baughman of Dothan and Cedar Springs Georgia died of a heart attack in New York City during holiday travels at age sixty. He operated the E H Baughman company as a manufacturers' representative for automotive equipment and mill supplies. Funeral services were set for 3 p.m. Wednesday at his Cedar Springs residence with interment in Dothan city cemetery. He is survived by his wife Henrietta, a daughter in Panama City, a son in California, a stepmother, three brothers, and four sisters.
