Funeral services for Mrs Mattie Barnes who died recently will be held at 12 oclock Friday at the residence with Rev L Tubbs of Abbville and Rev Huby Jo Lee officiating. Burial will be at Admins cemetery. Survived by five sons and two sisters. numerous nephews. Headland Funeral home directing.

Funeral services for Joseph Riley Deese age seventy five who died at his Cottonwood route home after a lingering illness were held at Ramer Church with Rev George Gamble officiating. Burial followed in Ramer cemetery with Johnson and Williterson directing. Surviving are his wife his two sons a daughter fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Arthur Lee Neel, a Houston Negro, was found guilty of first degree manslaughter yesterday in circuit court and sentenced to five years hard labor. Otis Lewis and Johnnie Dorle Peterman, both charged with non support, were not pressed.
