Citizens in Dothan demand a local weather bureau to provide timely forecasts hourly. They criticize distant bureaus and Montgomery's partial service, arguing for a dedicated weather facility to protect crops, streets, and daily life.
In town Thursday Mr. Trimm paraded a misbehaving cow that bit a boy named McAllister twice on the hand and arm. Police tracked the animal and killed it. The boy received medical care after the incident at a local doctor. Grover Coe of Ashford visited town last Saturday.
Probate Court of Houston County Alabama orders sale of J W Rollins estate real estate for cash. Sheriff T W Butler will offer one house and lot on Crawford and Lena streets in Dothan on December 30 1907 at courthouse door during legal hours. Property bounds include Lena street east, Crawford street south, Clendinen property west, and formerly Dan Baker negro houses north.
Little John T. Malo died last Saturday morning from injuries and pneumonia after the fire. He was carried to an Atlanta hospital for treatment but did not survive. The remains were brought home Sunday and buried in the city cemetery after funeral services at the residence. The family has community sympathy in their bereavement.
The speaker argues for establishing a United States branch court locally, noting it would serve residents who currently travel to Montgomery. Grover Grubbs the young son of Dr and Mrs W W Grubbs of Enterprise traveled from Atlanta to Enterprise via Dothan on Monday. He had been treated at the Pasteur Institute and is now out of danger from the dog bite.
The Dothan Hardware Co advertises a talk by Capt. R F Kolb at the county courthouse next Thursday on Cantaroup and watermelon growing. Farmers were urged to attend and visit the store for a free $7 50 worth of ware. The Killebrew franchise ordinance failed in Monday’s election. The Dothan Variety has moved its machinery to a new building beyond Central depot.
