Washington dispatch notes 15006 influenza cases across the United States with the Public Health Service urging physicians to stay vigilant to prevent a broader epidemic. California leads with 8213 cases. Alabama 198. Georgia 144. other states show at least a few cases each.
Two new Atlanta bound air mail routes began December 1, linking Dothan with Chicago Miami and extending air mail toward New York Washington and New Orleans. Local mail deadlines are 8 30 a m for eastern points and 5 p m for Chicago western and Miami connections.
The study course at the First Baptist Church continues during the prayer meeting hour and will be concluded tonight. Attendees are urged to participate, and those enlisting in the course are encouraged to attend.
Dr. Walter F. Rittman, Carnegie Tech professor and former football player at Ohio State and Swarthmore, helped advance automobile fuel via cracking processes while donating his cracking patents to the oil industry. He chose teaching ideals to youth over wealth, a sacrifice noted as a lifelong ambition.
City schools will host complete dental examinations for all students under a local dentists association plan led by Dr Passmore and endorsed by the county health officer. Examinations begin at 8:30 Tuesday with future plans to include rural children.

Mrs HL Roberts died in a local hospital at 7 30 am after a fall at her home a week earlier. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 10 am at the family residence on North Alice Street with Rev McLeod and Dr Bask officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery. Survived by husband five daughters three sons nine grandchildren and other relatives.
Dr H E Chamberlain argues youth today seek practical living knowledge rather than ancient authority. He notes modern media shape children from kindergarten age and urges guided clinics within the education system to help develop understanding and adaptation to real life. Continued on Page Three.
A gang of robbers hit the Soo M Store last night escaping with merchandise valued over 200 dollars. The entry came through a rear window as iron bars were bent and the lock sprung. A morning inventory noted dresses worth 135 dollars missing along with silk hose and other goods. no suspect identified.
Scouts leaders met last night at the First Baptist Church to review the fifth training session run by the Cheetawhuschee area council. Fr. L. Galnes praised church turnout and stressed citizenship training. W. L. Sproune led discussions and ceremonies. Thi Allen oversaw Scout games. The next session is Tuesday evening December 16 with certificates awarded to all who attended all six sessions.
H. Reed, organizer of the Independent National Negro Funeral Directors of America, visited Page & Song Funeral Home in Dothan for several hours Tuesday. He praised the design and arrangement as “the South's finest” for colored people before departing for Jacksonville.
Vita Stranger, once a resident of Dothan, died in Lake Wales Florida and was buried in St Phillips Cemetery on Tuesday. Page & Sons funeral directors handled arrangements.
