Dwelling Fire Destroys Home Near Underwood Mill

A house seven miles southwest of Dothan near Underwood Mill occupied by Perry Smith burned yesterday while the family ate breakfast at 4:30 AM. Flames broke through the roof causing nearly complete destruction with losses expected to exceed $1,000. The family had no fire insurance and only a few furnishings were saved.

Penny Cans Aid Needy Children Reported

Penny cans collected over two weeks in Houston county raised funds totaling 13.61 dollars for needy children.
