Three White Men Charged With Robbing Negro
Reefus Farmer Clarence Matthews and James Mathews were arrested Saturday in the western county on a warrant by J. C. McLeod. They are jailed on robbery charges after the alleged assault and $60 theft from a Negro who said he spent Friday in Dothan and was driven home before being robbed on a lonely road. Bond is $1,000 each. trial likely at next circuit court session.

County Court Session Underway With Assault Cases Listed
The December county court session opened at 10 o clock with about three dozen cases set for trial. Several assault with intent to murder charges drew public interest, including Dan McDaniel accused of cutting Walt Nowell. McDaniel says he used the knife when Nowell attacked Mrs. McDaniel. The docket also includes several alleged liquor law violations.

Train hits car near Altoona kills youth
A. L. Thompson, 19, was killed and Kyle Thrasher, 20, seriously injured when their car was struck by a Louisville and Nashville passenger train near Altoona Alabama. Witnesses said the car had nearly cleared the tracks when the locomotive struck the rear, hurling occupants several feet. Thompson died instantly. funeral plans were not yet made. Thrasher was reported with cuts and possible internal injuries with slight improvement noted the next day.

Endurance plane forced down over Tampa after 40 hours aloft
A Florida endurance plane named Scaldsweet spent about 40 hours in the air before a forced landing in Tampa at 2 A M. The aircraft suffered minor damage on impact.
