First Day Enrollment Rules Affecting Iowa Schools
The article explains that students must enroll on the first day of school and that those helping with harvest may be excused for work but must make up lost time with extra assignments. The Board of Education argues short days would hinder learning, so most students will attend full schedules during the early term. The superintendent notes registration is required but work excuses are allowed.
