City School Term Begins With Budget Strain

From the Atlantic the Green Mountain Boy fledgling flight offered no report. The crew Clyde Lee and John Boch aimed for Oslo Norway, expecting a 39 hour crossing to reach around 11 a.m. local time. Traffic vessels did not sight the plane, though loss of visibility from rain or high altitude was possible.

Foot Injury Leads to Tetanus in Local Boy

BM Allen, 11, of Dothan, is hospitalized with tetanus after stepping on a nail or stick in his foot about a month ago. He was playing in a vacant lot when the injury occurred.

The Associated Press reports reinforced picket lines blocking all roads to Council Bluffs Iowa as about a thousand farmers threaten to storm the county jail and 55 arrested men are released on bond. In Sioux City 30 pickets are arrested and freed after habeas corpus, with lines on highways to Sioux City. South Dakota farmers back the non selling campaign while Minnesota Farm Bureau officials condemn the movement.

Democratic Rally of Florida Draws Speakers in Marianna

Funeral Held for Daleville Man Thomas W Wells

Thomas W Wells Ti of Daleville died Tuesday night in a Dothan hospital after a long illness. Funeral services were held at Daleville Methodist Church with Rev. Bush, Rev. Glover, and Rev. Seed loan debtors sued in Houston county case flood

More than 40 Houston county citizens who obtained government seed loans in 1929 and 1930 are named defendants in federal suits to recover funds alleged misappropriated or unpaid. General Election in City Set for Sept 19

City officials compile a roster of prospective managers clerks and returning officers to be approved at the next council meeting. John G. Brown an insurance salesman was arrested on three counts of forgery and placed under bonds totaling 900 dollars the warrants were issued by James W. Fletcher bill aims to overhaul Alabama executive system

In Montgomery on Aug 26 the Fletcher bill, introduced by Shelby Fletcher of Madison, seeks to force Alabama to live within its income by revamping the executive system. Dothan Bowling Team Defeats Panama City Favorites

The Dothan bowling team defeated Panama City ten-pin experts by 279 points in Dothan last night. Shuck Burdeshaw led with 217, while Panama City's Thomas top-scored for the losers with 143. A return match is planned next week in Florida Gulf town, with more matches possible at the local alley. Team members included Past McKinnon, Bill Prieunt, Martie Shannon, and Leon Redding.
