The Houston County water safety program, run by the American Red Cross local chapter, ends Friday under instructor Charles Beck. Summer courses in swimming, beginner and advanced levels, plus junior and senior life saving, were held at Ashford, Columbia, Porter's pool in Dothan, Kelly's, the country club, Napier Field, and the Negro pool. Enrollment exceeded average, with Ashford reporting excellent response. certificates will be awarded soon, though figures don’t reflect total learners or basic life saving skills acquired.
Futures closed 15 to 55 cents a bale higher than the previous close. Trading data shows Oct and Dec contracts opening near 3060 to 3075 with highs around 3072 to 3085 and last prices near 3075. May and July futures also edged higher with varied intraday ranges and closing levels reflecting a firm session.
