About $5 in contributions supported the trek. A thirty barrow pusher rode with the hiker who carried a three year old wheelbarrow, aided by several witnesses and autos. They received sandwiches, soft drinks, and water along the route. The hiker was to fly back to Headland in a private plane but the craft had a minor accident in Ashford, forcing a ground return.
