Funeral Rites Held For H. J. Puckett

Funeral services for H. J. Puckett of 604 Cottonwood Road were held at the First Presbyterian Church after a brief illness. He died Monday in a local hospital. Burial followed in Cis Cemetery. Puckett, a telegraph operator for ACL Railroad 29 years, was a Baptist Church member. Surviving are his widow, a daughter, his mother, five brothers, and five sisters.

Miss Frances McNiel Dies at Atmore Home

Miss Frances McNiel aged eighteen dies at home in Atmore after illness. Funeral services were held in the afternoon at Enon Church Goodway. Miss McNiel was daughter of Mrs. Rufus McNiel and niece of T. McNiel chief aircraft company with the CAA station at the municipal airport.

Two Diphtheria Cases Reported In County

Two preschool aged children living on the Old Grimes area have been reported with diphtheria. County health officer Dr W T Burkett said neither child has immunized against diphtheria. The report brings the total diphtheria cases recorded since January first at the health department to five.
