OPA Hikes Cotton Ginning Prices
The Office of Price Administration announces higher ceiling prices for cotton ginning and related charges. Ginners may raise ceilings by at least 20 cents per pattern over cost, not to exceed 1.85 dollars unless previously higher. Rates vary by seed cotton and gross weight, with new per hundredweight figures for picked cotton and boles. The move aims to ease operations without raising consumer costs, though the text ends with an abrupt non sequitur about linguistic evolution.
