Pear thief found unwilling in tree on Main Street

Frightened 65 year old Joe McCrary, a Negro, remained in a pear tree on W Main Street after residents raised an alarm. Police coaxed him down and released him on a petit larceny charge, with Chief Domingus scolding him for stealing pears.

Navy grid team opens fall practice in San Diego
