W M Christmas of Chipley Florida killed a six foot rattlesnake with nine rattles on the road between Headland and Newton. He displayed the reptile at Dothan yesterday. Christmas and Miserva Mercer were in a car when the snake crossed the highway. The car's wheels passed over the snake then Christmas backed up and beat it to ensure death. He noted the snake was one of the largest in the area for some time.
