Major Gerald C. Williams of Graceville Florida received the Bronze Star with combat distinguishing device from Brig. Gen. Jerry V. Matejka at Fort Monmouth New Jersey. The award covered meritorious service from 1943 to 1945 while serving as radar officer for the Fleet Marine Force Pacific during Saipan Tinian and subsequent operations. Williams later served as Marine Corps liaison to the Signal Corps labs at Fort Monmouth and is the son of Mrs J Pruitt of Graceville.
