Survey ordered on two proposed Muscle Shoals waterway links

MOBILE April 28 The Army engineers headquarters announced surveys will begin on two proposed waterway connections from the Muscle Shoals area to the Gulf of Mexico. One route would join the Tennessee River to the Tombigbee via Big Bear Creek and the other would link the Tennessee to the Warrior River via Big Springs Creek. A prior survey by AD Spottswood and Tam Galliard on the Valley Creek canalization from Warrior to Birmingham was not made public.
