Gandhi Attacked By Enemy Group In India

Ruxar India April 26 rock smashed the window of four cars carrying Mahatma Gandhi and he escaped unharmed. Three Nationalist Congress volunteers were injured in the assault said to be by orthodox Hindus opposing his campaign for India's untouchables. Gandhi threatened further penance as opposition grows to his movement. He previously began a hunger strike after prison officials denied campaigning from his cell.

West Georgia Florida residents form Roosevelt Highway group

More than 200 citizens from west Georgia and northwest Florida formed the Georgia Florida Roosevelt Highway Association in Marianna Florida to promote a route from Atlanta through Warm Springs Columbus Colquitt Cuthbert Blakely Donaldsonville to Marianna and on to Pensacola area. Bank Robbery Endangers Dumas Officials in Arizona

Three men robbed Merchants and Farmers Bank in Dumas Arizona. They entered with a pistol, demanded cash from drawers, and fled toward Gould in an armed pursuit. Sheriff and a citizen exchanged fire, wounding Marshal Puteher and another deputy as the robbers escaped with about a thousand dollars.
