Tragedy Claims Dothan Student Raymond Saliba
Raymond Saliba an 18 year old son of Mr and Mrs Joseph F Saliba of 700 Dusy street drowned in 20 foot deep water at the Warrior River near Tuscaloosa after a motorboat accident. He was a 1946 Dothan High School graduate and a sophomore at the University of Alabama studying law. Three companions escaped death in the river tragedy. Fire crews searched the river through the night but no body was found. Saliba was a member of the Sinina Phi Epalsa fraternity the Pershing Rifles an honorary ROTC group and active in Dothan school politics. He leaves survivors including his parents two brothers and a sister.
