Fertilizer sales exceed last year and seed improvement emphasis grows, especially for cotton corn sugar cane and hay crops.
Arington April 26 AP state ranks fourth in cotton spinning nationwide with an average 774 hours per spindle. There were 1,873 408 spindles listed as of March 31, with 1,897,020 active during the month, totaling 21,427 hours. North, followed by Tennessee and Georgia.
Lindy makes a two day visit with old friends in St Louis where he began his early aviation career. Colonel Charles A. Lindbergh and another companion depart Lam for the next leg of the journey.
F. F. Fowler 83 longtime Graceville resident and father of J. A. Fowler of Dothan died at his home in Graceville of heart disease. He had lived there 22 years after moving from Houston county. Survived by widow, three sons in Graceville and Dothan, and four daughters. Funeral Tuesday at Graceville Baptist Church with burial in Memphis church cemetery. Active pallbearers listed. honorary pallbearers named.
Montgomery April 24 AP The Alabama Public Service Commission will hear requests on May 18 from four bus and truck firms. Dixie Greyhound Lines seeks to extend service Florence to Alabama Mississippi state line via Corinth Mississippi through Sheffield and Tuscumbia. Taggart Freight Lines asks for a Birmingham to Tuscaloosa freight route via Besnemer. Motor Terminal & Transportation Co. seeks to extend Birmingham Montgomery freight line to Dothan via Troy Brundidge and Ozark. Warrior River Freight Lines seeks to extend Birmingham Jasper freight service toward Mississippi then Columbus Mississippi.
Mrs Harry Booney who vanished on a flight from Australia to England was found 20 miles south of Victoria Point Burma. Her plane was damaged on landing after overturning in a traffic storm while she survived on boiled water and frugal rations on a Siamese island Baing.
The Eagle Cooking School at the Cley Auditorium will host a display titled Aunt Jemimas. Déthan’s Aunt Jemimas appears as a supervisory exhibit for kitchen staff but access is restricted to cooks who are accompanied by the lady of the house. Inside, cooks have access to the regular area. No exceptions to the accompanying requirement.
Coy W. Jones, 14, of Midland City routi on, died at his home Saturday after a brief illness. He is survived by his mother Mire HF Jones and several relatives. Funeral services were held Sunday at the home with Rev. Jack Marshall officiating. Burial followed in Pinchard cemetery with Fellows and Forrester in charge. Pallbearers included Merlin Horn, Dewey Horn, Henry Davis, Leon Jerkins, Grady Driskell, Spylten Bonds, Ralph Jeckins, Donald Murphy, Joe Apling, Hieamle Jones, Pat Bonda, and W G Bonds.
Mrs. Cardwell widow of Mr. Cantwell, 58, died at her Hartford home Sunday after a period in Dolhag hospital. Born Jorena Pilcher, she was the daughter of the late Richard Pilcher. Survived by husband and two sons Ezra Cardwell of Wichita, Kenny Cardwell of Completion, and Fox Cardwell Jr. Funeral at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mathod Bed in Hartford with burial in the Dothan city cemetery.
Mrs Nell Wesley, a young Dothan woman, was injured in a fall from a horse while training Sunday afternoon. She was taken to a local hospital where officials reported her condition much improved today. The incident recalls a prior accident involving Councilman Arthur Joe Grant at the guard camp last summer.

Representative Shoemaker of Minnesota waived immunity and pleaded not guilty in police court to an information charging him with assaulting Theodora Cohen, a neighbor, after entering Cohen’s apartment to complain about a radio note. A jury trial was demanded, with a May 17 date set. Shoemaker resigned on personal bond.
A Saturday collision on a city highway left Mrs. C. L. Adkins seriously hurt but able to leave the hospital Sunday afternoon. Her condition was reported as uncertain. Occupants of the other automobile escaped injury. Jack Payne was in the vehicle with Adkins.

Mim Elle Ejlis, 17, of Esto, Fie, died in a Dothan hospital Saturday afternoon. She is survived by two brothers, Cum and R. V. Eitle of Esto, and four sisters, Dein, Koy C., Inex and Pauline, all of Esto. Funeral was held Sunday at Lee's chapel near Ente with Rev Sparke officiating. Burial followed at the chapel cemetery, Dowling and Rhodes in charge.
April 24 Washington AP A faithful chauffeur revealed as sole beneficiary of the will of Mrs Martha Fr Pavranli a society socialite who died last Thursday at age 61 The will drawn in October 1924 was filed in court as her burial occurred in Cambridge Massachusetts The chauffeur attended the funeral and authorities could not confirm the extent of the estate.

Senator Borah said he believed the economic conference would be a success after meetings with Prime Minister MacDonald and President. Officials anticipated a report from a group of economic experts on trade details as the day closed.

Thieves stole a car owned by the Dothan Sick Co from a residence on West Bisin atrest Instalelet and abandoned it in the northern city.
