Geneva Creates Waterworks Board To Run System
New Geneva shifts control of municipally owned waterworks to an appointed board created by city council. Board members Roy Gilstrap D H Morris III and M F Strickland serve without pay. Councilman Lewis Gay says the move removes politics from billing and operations and follows a $75 000 bond financed improvement. The city recently completed a $14 000 well and a new water tank and billing continues through Birmingham with Will Anderson of Water Service Co reading meters.
