Knights Meet in City Hall for Business Session

A local business session of the Knights of Columbus or similar order is scheduled in the city hall with remarks by Wil L. Les, Boca attorney and gubernatorial candidate. Rev. Thomas Flaming will address attendees at First Baptist church Wednesday morning. A night meeting at the church is invited, featuring W. S. Garfield of Dothan coordinating Wednesday night entertainment. The Huntsville band will provide music for the parade and drills. a barbecue supper at Porter's Fairyland honors visiting Knights. The convention adjourns at noon Thursday, with the entire second day devoted to business.

Lokey Ice Co to Open Tomorrow in Dothan

Lokey Ice Co plans a grand opening at East and Crawford streets with wagon delivery to begin next week. Owner W C Lokey, moving from Gadaden, says the plant is ready and he has already won local friends and expects success in Dothan.

Hembry Funeral Rites Held This Afternoon

Funeral services were to be held Friday at 3 o clock for Misa Melle Hembey who died at her home near Lio comb Thursday night after a stroke. Surviving are brother J. H. Hambey of Slocomb and sister Mrs Bud Pelleham of Hartford. Funeral directors Faircloth and Segrest of Slocomb were in charge.

George W Cherry Dies at Home on Kinsey Highway

George W Cherry a 69 year old Dothan pioneer died at his home on the Kinsey highway from ile and pneumonia after a three week illness. He homesteaded the farm where he lived and was a Baptist minister and longtime Mason. Surviving are his wife seven sons including Dr H S and O M Cherry of Center Hill Fin Bryant of Atlanta and others, two daughters and several siblings.
