Dear Miss Dix conundrum on elderly mother and greedy son

Dorothy Dix presents two reader questions about a 75 year old widow selling her home. The son demands a share of the proceeds, risking the mother’s security. Dix urges the mother to stand firm and refuse his demands until after her death. A second letter from Almah asks how to handle workplace harassment by a senior male coworker. Dix suggests avoiding confrontation, reporting up the chain may backfire, and advises seeking employment elsewhere if possible.
