Negro Sentenced in Manslaughter at Circuit Court
Macon Saffold, identified as a Negro, was found guilty of first degree manslaughter and sentenced to five years in the penitentiary by Judge H. A. Pearce. J. C. Berry, also a Negro, convicted of assault with intent to murder for shooting his wife, received a two to three year term in the state penitentiary. Second Tragic Tenement Fireclaims Six in Bronx

Co W McLeroy formerly of Dothan died Friday in Bartow Florida from a concussion of the brain. A telegram to Mrs Wil Mathis of Dothan cousin of the deceased gave no further details. McLeroy had lived in Bartow since leaving Dothan and was in the furniture business there.
