Los Angeles April 15 AP Colleen Moore film star seeks divorce from producer-husband John McCormick alleging mental cruelty. Complaint cites December 20 1929 appendicitis hospital return and Bel Air eviction amid guests and abusive language. No financial settlement sought though property agreement exists. McCormick will not contest. They wed August 28 1933 after working with First National. both recently left the company.

The Central of Georgia Railway will move the afternoon train schedule to 4 50 o clock Sunday announced by local agent co Bennett. The train previously arrived at 5 46 p m in Dothan and runs from Lock Mart Hartford and Slocomb to Albany.

Kiwanis Club to Meet at Court House Wednesday

Members of the Kiwanis Club will meet at the Court House at noon Wednesday to travel to Selma club house for their regular weekly luncheon. HL Bolton agricultural agent for the Bay Line Railroad and Dr. Arthur Keyton will be speakers. Bolton will discuss Progress in and Keyton will speak on Kiwanis and Its Rural Friends.

Prohi crackdown nets Newark police chief among seven jailed

Newark April 15 A P A police chief and six others were jailed as federal agents pursued 43 more indicted in a liquor smuggling syndicate case. Keansburg chief Charles McGuire and Elizabeth motorcycle cop Charles Weiner faced 10,000 bail defaults. Indictments followed October raids from Highlands New Jersey to Sag Harbor Long Island unveiling rum runners and secret radio operations.

Burglaries Reported in Mobile and Ohio West Line

Police recover loot from a burglary at the Mobile and Ohio West line. Officers seize the stolen goods and offer a tip leading to possible suspects. A later attempted robbery on a nearby depot was thwarted, with no further details provided.

Board approves cashing of health warrants by bank

Houston county health unit will operate through the current fiscal year ending October after the board of revenue unanimously adopts a resolution to pay eight percent interest on warrants from the health department and related units bought by First National Bank. The bank agreed to cash warrants if taken up at par plus eight percent interest, following a state order to close the health unit on March 31 for breach of agreement. No cashing occurred for five months and no other major items were acted on.

Dr. H. W. Caldwell state dairy inspector finished a survey begun yesterday as he prepares to grade the dairies supplying Dothan residents with milk.

County farmers press for larger loan funds

Requests forced Witherington to ask for an increase in the appropriation. More than 100000 has already been applied for by about 600 Houston county farmers. The $50000 appropriation was sought within two days after applications began. Witherington consults the national loan committee at Columbia and aims to win more funds through the Houston County Farm Loan Board. County reports are awaited though board members expect success. G. L. Young and Leo Espy of Gordon were in the city on business. Mr and Mrs L M Strickland and baby moved to Chipley Florida.

John aPul Martin of Dothan has been sent to the Navy training school at Norfolk Virginia after enlisting in the general division of seamen according to Recruiting Officer Griffin North Carolina farmers sold 20 million dollars worth of milk last year, a figure reflecting the state’s dairy industry.
