Man Neglects to Pay Crew for Work

An unemployed group of about 25 Negro men and boys were hired to pull turnips by a truck-for-hire operator who did not pay them. John H. Bell, chairman of the unemployment committee, said the crew met at a corner and worked on a farm six miles from the city before the operator and the farm owner left for Birmingham without paying or returning for the workers.
