Baseball Writers Pick Cubs and A's for 1928 Season
A panel of 65 major league writers voting in the Associated Press consensus favors the Chicago Cubs to repeat in the National League and the Philadelphia Athletics to win the American League. The Pirates receive no first-place votes in the NL, while the Yankees top the AL. In forecasts for the full circuit, the Cubs and A’s lead, with the Giants and Pirates among the other likely contenders, and overall sentiment points to notable improvement across many clubs.
