Geneva Highway Store Robbed of Stock and Cash

Pose of crime reported at Geneva highway store owned by C J Stephenson. Robbers entered by breaking three locks, taking about $300 in merchandise and $26 in cash. Items stolen include flour, pork, 10 000 cigarettes, cigars, overalls, and jumper coats. Police pursue leads, expect arrests soon. Also note Sir Harry Seagrave's arrest in London for speeding over 45 mph.

Bank Could Pay 20 Percent To Defunct Dothan National Claimants

Report from March 31 shows creditors and depositors who filed claims may receive 20 percent of amounts owed by the closed Dothan National Bank. Receiver Albert Lohm notes over half the claims filed. dividend possible within weeks if debtors promptly repay what they owe.

Declamation Contest Won By Sue Mills

Sue Mills of the Bennett society won the high school declamation contest beating Ford of the Tiger Club. Her speech titled The Death of Benedict Arnold drew praise from judges Mrs. O. M. Byrd and Mrs. 8.9 May and William Jessup.

Capone Evidence Grows in Tax Evasion Case

Chicago dispatch reports the government claims new evidence of Capone's enormous income and tax return falsifications. Telegraphic money orders totaling 100000 are seized and subpoenas issued to Western Union for telegram copies. Records show transfers from 1928 between Chicago and Miami, often naming Capone and associates including A Acosta and Frank Nitti.
