A Black man named Carlisle, employed by the Whatley brothers at their road camp near Abbeville, was fatally hurt last night in a dispute with another Black man named Dunzy during a gambling and moonshine session. Carlisle's home was in Dothan.
In Colonict on April 3 a United States Coast Artillery corporal was shot and killed, three other American soldiers were injured, one severely, during a patrol in the tenderloin district. The shooting followed an argument between a drinking soldier and a Panama policeman, and did not trigger a larger clash.
