President Bush said he is very flexible on how Congress pays for his 7.9 billion anti drug plan as long as there is no tax increase and military readiness is not sacrificed. Miss America contestant hit by bottle during parade
Tamara Denise Toshiko Marler of Tulsa Miss Oklahoma was struck in the head by a bottle during the Atlantic City boardwalk parade. She remained overnight for observation at Atlantic City Medical Center after CAT scan and X rays. Executive director Leonard Horn said she is in good spirits and her mother will stay with her. Marler, who won a preliminary talent event, is expected to be among the pageant finalists.

Bus overturns injuring 21 children on West Side
A West Side school bus carrying 30 students overturned after 3 p.m. injuring 21 children aged five to 12. Driver Ocie Hendricks faced DUI and felony charges, negligent driving, and property damage. Two girls, ages 11 and 14, were seriously hurt but listed in fair condition. The crash occurred near Lawndale Academy and Collins High School. Witnesses described the bus traveling at 45 to 50 mph before the turn. Bond and court dates set for Hendricks as investigators probe the incident.
