By 11 30 this morning 2823 ballots were cast, about one third of registered voters in Dixon. Precinct one led with 246 votes, while Dixon four at Holloway Center reported 97, Dixon five 89, and the old Lee County Courthouse 65. Down county in Amboy showed 34 percent turnout, with high activity at the junior high 160 votes. In Ogle County turnout was heavier than expected before noon with Mount Morris crowded, Flagg 11 reporting 110 votes and Oregon 4 precinct 77, double previous elections at that time.
