Dixon eyed as state’s 42nd certified city in November
After a three year pursuit Dixon is set to be officially designated a certified city by state officials on November 15. The announcement will come from Governor James Thompson's office following a noontime meeting and 1:30 p.m. press conference with DCCA and civic leaders. The designation will bolster Dixon's economic development image and assist in attracting and retaining industry while highlighting city offerings including health care education and governance. The Dixon Industrial Development Association will also discuss marketing Green River Industrial Park with local and county leaders and tour Allied Locke at GRIP before dinner in Amboy.
