Dixon woman pleads guilty to setting residential fire
Bonnie Balayti 32 formerly of 51442 Nachusa Ave pled guilty in Lee County Circuit Court to arson for starting a bathroom fire to attempt suicide and then a living room blaze while her children were inside. Sentencing set for July 3 at 11 a.m. A second count was dismissed. In a separate matter, Stanley Byrd 30 pled guilty to aggravated battery and received five years added to a 12 year current sentence. A warrant was issued for Fred Janssen II for failing to appear in court after probation for delivering cocaine. Additionally, a Stillman Valley man Steven Beach was injured in a one car crash on Kishwaukee Road when his car struck a guardrail and overturned. he was ticketed for improper lane usage.
