Law Day Brings Judges and Attorneys To Lee County Students
Lee County students learned about the legal system during Law Day with volunteers from the judiciary and bar. Circuit Judge Tomas M. Magdich led a mock trial in the Lee County Courts Building while ISP Trooper Bill Fromm demonstrated a K 9 attack drill for Franklin Center Elementary students. Assistant State's Attorney Steve Katten organized the event with a staged scenario featuring Master Sergeant Jerry O'Sadnick as the victim.

Dixon council approves parking lease with Town Square Partners

No beer permit denied for Reynolds Field tournament

Amboy and Sublette fire districts locked in tax feud
A multi county lawsuit in Lee County seeks to redraw fire protection zones by transferring sections one and two of May Township from Amboy to Sublette. Sublette alleges Amboy collects about 10000 yearly in taxes for areas it does not service while Sublette provides fire and emergency services. The suit asks the circuit court to stop tax distributions to Amboy pending a full hearing and to order an accounting of all taxes and fees.
