Bennett hearing continued in Lee County murder case
County Circuit Court Judge Hornsby continued the sentencing hearing for Kathy Joanne Bennett 25 of Earlville after the prosecution sought a delay. Bennett pleaded guilty to murder in the stabbing and beating death of Carrie Duncan 80 of Paw Paw on November 2. Sentencing is reset for March 27 after pathologist availability. co defendant Calvin Pierce 30 also Earlville faces potential death penalty with jury trial set for April 18. Duncan’s body was found in a farm field near Paw Paw.
