Oakland County Circuit Judge Hilda Gage ruled there is no legal basis to stop 38 year old quadriplegic David H Rivlin from ending life support. Rivlin, bedridden and on a respirator since a 1986 surfing accident, seeks death as the federal government covers his $230 daily care. His aunt Marion Gornbein says the judge acknowledged the patient’s right to refuse treatment and to make the decision with his doctors and family.
