The 60 foot Ostwind, sunk during a 50th anniversary of the Voyage of the Damned, was re sunk to its original site off Miami Beach. A Fort Lauderdale salvage firm moved the wreck about one mile away to 275 feet down beside an artificial reef near the Fontainebleau Hotel. The initial sinking occurred in 33 feet of water in a fragile coral area and in a shipping channel away from its intended location.

Gluttonous grouper to be released from Illinois tank
In Fort Lauderdale Florida UPI reports Terry Haley of Lansing Illinois will release Flazey the gluttonous grouper into the ocean off Fort Lauderdale after ten years of devouring tankmates. The 35 pound fish grew from 3 pounds to 35 pounds and consumed expensive fish including clown trigger angels and yellow tangs.
