Walnut area educator dies at 93 in Walnut Manor
Verl N Bass 93 of Walnut Manor Nursing Home died Jan 17 1990. She taught in Walnut and was born Aug 23 1896 in Walnut to George and Orilla Waterhouse. She married Stewart Miller in 1920 him preceded in death in 1955. She then married Glenn Bass in 1964. he died in 1980. Funeral 2 pm Saturday at Garland Funeral Home with Rev John Atherton officiating. Burial Walnut Cemetery. Visitation 7 to 9 pm Friday. Memorials to Walnut United Methodist Church and Walnut Rescue Unit.

A Mount Morris man hit a mailbox on Lowell Park Road after failing to negotiate a curve on slippery roads. Two drivers were injured minorly in a Route 2 crash in Rockvale Township. Multiple speeding violations, DUI, and other charges were listed with fines and bonds, plus a hospital transfer to KSB Hospital by Dixon City Fire.
