Referendum Discussed on Nursing Home Tax Increase

Miracle crash in Nevada leaves all 16 aboard alive

A SkyWest Metro III turboprop crashed on a snowy Nevada hillside four miles west of Elko after striking a 6,463 foot mountain during a snowstorm. Four passengers were hospitalized in fair condition while 12 were treated and released. The pilot suffered serious injuries, and rescuers said no one was ejected from the plane. SkyWest officials called the outcome miraculous and noted the aircraft was 500 feet lower than the pilot believed.
