Youth dies in accident near Lee Center in 1989

A fatal crash on U S Route 30 northeast of Lee Center left nine year old Shannon Rosengren of Rock Falls dead and Steven Rosengren 35, and his wife and a son hospitalized after a westbound semi braked for a car in a ditch and collided with an eastbound vehicle. Amboy fire crews freed trapped Rock Falls family. Sheriff's deputies investigate. an arrest is pending. This marked Lee County's first traffic fatality of 1989.
