Soviets May Have Stolen U.S. Missile Nose Cone in 1987

UPI reports CBS News citing a Defense Intelligence Agency draft that it is probable the Soviets seized the nose cone and flight data from a U.S. intercontinental missile during a July 7 1987 test. The nose cone vanished after surfacing near Kwajalein Atoll.

Ex-Navy man linked to spying

Ex Navy petty officer Craig Kunkle, 39, a Virginia Beach security guard and 12 year Navy veteran, was arrested in Williamsburg and charged with espionage for allegedly trying to pass sensitive anti submarine information to the Soviets. FBI officials credited undercover agents with foiling the scheme and said Kunkle acted alone and never transmitted any data.

Farm debt mediation bill sent to governor in Illinois

In Springfield Illinois House lawmakers approved a farm debt mediation program requiring a farmer and lender meeting before foreclosure.
