James A. McElroy, 77, of 109 Memorial St., East Grove Township, died Tuesday December 27, 1988 at home. He was born July 29, 1911 in Ohio to Michael and Mary McElroy and farmed in East Grove Township. An Army World War II veteran, he earned the Purple Heart and was predeceased by three brothers. Survived by a brother John of Mapleside Manor Amboy. Funeral Mass at St. Patrick's Church Maytown Monday at 10:30 a.m. with burial in St. Patrick's Cemetery. Visitation 9:30 a.m. until service time. Garland Funeral Home handled arrangements.
