Rochelle Man Dies Shoveling Snow In Rochelle
A 62 year old Rochelle man Joe Doner died from an apparent heart attack while shoveling snow at his home on Phyllis Avenue around 11 a.m. Neighbors alerted his family and Rochelle ambulance staff, with CPR given at the scene and again at Rochelle Community Hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly before noon. Doner had served 29 years as a Rochelle Little League umpire and board member, and was active painting dugouts and organizing league activities for 700 plus members. He leaves four sons and five daughters, and was married to Louise Doner.
