Fires scorch holiday spirit for families in Dixon
Two Dixon families faced Christmas with homes burned within five days. Mike Gall’s home at 512 Assembly Place was destroyed Saturday night, and Raymond Yeager’s home at 601 Kuel Road burned last Thursday. No injuries occurred, and aid flows from local responders and the Red Cross as both families scramble for shelter and essentials. The Gall family stays at St. Anne's rectory. babysitter Mary Corning, praised for evacuating the Gall children, aided the effort. The ARC funds housing search and asks for monetary gifts to help the Yeagers, who lost clothes, gifts, and furnishings.

Reagan statue arrives in Dixon to be installed
A 9 foot tall 110 percent life size bronze statue of President Ronald Reagan arrives in Dixon and is set on a black marble base in the park by the Reagan Home. The statue shows Reagan studying corn kernels in his left hand with his right index finger and was donated by Dwayne Andreas of Archer Daniels Midland.
