Merrick wins PTL assets at $65 million sale price
U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Rufus Reynolds approved Toronto developer Stephen Mernick's $65 million cash bid to buy PTL assets including Heritage USA and undeveloped acreage, deeming a higher offer impractical amid creditor claims. Reynolds said the price was about $10 million too low but preferable to piecemeal liquidation. Bakker declined comment as Merrick prepares plans for the ministry’s properties.
