Bus driver abandons seven children at empty Edison school

A Chicago school bus driver, reportedly disoriented and frustrated by being lost, returned to Edison Comprehensive Gifted School and left seven children aged 5 to 13 on the deserted campus before driving away. Neighbors helped the kids inside to call parents.

East St Louis Ordered to Stop Misusing State Funds

St Clair County Circuit Judge ordered East St Louis to halt improper use of state funds, conduct an audit, and dispose of records only with state permission. City had allegedly used 2,028,657 dollars of motor fuel tax money for unauthorized purposes and moved 698,379 dollars from the Municipal Retirement Fund to other accounts. Baricevic sought the injunction in July. the city said it is complying.
