Trains support urged by Rochelle officials and leaders
Rochelle Mayor Gail Loefgren called on area mayors business and industrial leaders and residents to back passenger train service. A noon January 18 luncheon at Rochelle Country Club will invite legislators and others to push for about 100000 in funding over several years. Also council delayed a vote on changing the downtown diagonal parking ordinance amid complaints from motorists and business owners.

New Water Line Work in Dixon Along Second Street
Work crews from Advanced Asphalt Co in Princeton continue installing a new water line on Monday along Second Street in downtown Dixon. The pipeline runs beside buildings slated for demolition near the Dixon Theatre. Demolition will start once the line is finished, possibly late this month or early January.

Baker Joins East German Reform Drive in Potsdam Visit
