Green Thumb program offers jobs to seniors over 55
The federally funded Green Thumb program, led by DeKalb area supervisor Jerri Davis, places adults over 55 in part time positions with local agencies to retrain and gain permanent work. In northern Illinois the program has hired 127 workers at about 100 agencies, including Dixon Public Library where two women aid with indexing, shelving and computer tasks.
